Northeastern University professor Art Kramer discovered that the average person's attention span is less than that of a goldfish (Moulton, 2024). In an era of oversaturation, what makes you stop in your tracks? What causes you to stop strolling and want to see a new perspective? For many TikTok users and me, it is Celine Westlund's TikTok account, Studio Celine W. Studio Celine W magically combines art, pop culture, and technology to create compelling content. I spoke with Studio Celine W founder Celine Westlund to learn more about her work, which is full of artistic abstractions.

1. What inspires your work?

My biggest inspiration comes from Nordic nature and animals and my love for the Stockholm archipelago, where I spent all my summers growing up.

2. How do you leverage social media to interact with your audience?

I built a community on my social channels, and it means the world to me. I spend at least 2-3 hours answering DMs and comments daily. They inspire me with their love, support, and ideas for upcoming works. I recently started a series of works based on my favorite movies and books, which resonates with the community.

3. How do you incorporate your mission and vision into your work?

I  talk a lot about mental health on my channels since anxiety has been a part of my life for a long time. I get messages daily thanking me for openly discussing it and making them feel less alone. My followers show me so much love and energy daily, making all the hours worth it.

I have also started incorporating charity into my business, which has been one of my goals since I started painting. I believe the ability to inspire others is a privilege, and I enjoy guiding students in my online masterclass.

4. What advice would you give to students and young professionals who want to enter this realm?

I have three insights for someone wanted to start this journey.

Try everything, and don't be scared to fail or start over! - Celine Westlund
Don't be afraid to post about your journey with eight followers on social media; successful people never judge you. - Celine Westlund
Enjoy the process of becoming! - Celine Westlund

5. What is the future of Studio Celine W?

We want to enter more physical art fairs worldwide, give more money to charity, and keep inspiring people with content and online masterclasses.
