In Graduate School, one of the buzzwords professors love to discuss is "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables a company to understand consumer needs to serve their audience better. For this project, I contacted different companies to learn how the organizations apply Design Thinking into their market offerings. I had the opportunity to talk with Flo S., Head of PR at Jessica McCormack, to learn more about the organization.

These earrings are described as," Set with approximately 1.70 carats of brilliant cut diamonds, the Wing of Desire Blackened Gold Earrings have been handcrafted in blackened 18k white gold. The Messenger of the Gods collection is inspired by Greek Mythology – in particular, Hermes with his winged hat and sandals which he used when delivering dreams from the mortals to the Gods. The beginning element of this collection was the Wing of Desire Earring, a jewel which has become and iconic part of Jessica's work. The Wing of Desire Earrings are designed to trace the contour of the wearers ear and are 'climber' earrings. Also available in white gold and yellow gold. 2. How does Jessica McCormack incorporates her vision into the collections?
Inspiration for a collection can come from anywhere. With our newest collection On The Rocks, Jessica was inspired by the sculpture of Barbara Hepworth who’s forms are evocative of British coastal walks, hills and skies. You can see that inspiration reflected in beautiful diamond, gold and Chalcedony pieces – in their organic shape and perfectly imperfect forms.
