In Graduate School, one of the buzzwords professors love to discuss is "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables a company to understand consumer needs to serve their audience better. For this project, I contacted different fashion and lifestyle companies to learn how the organizations apply Design Thinking into their market offerings. I had the opportunity to talk with On Running to learn more about their organization.

1. What makes On Running different from other shoe brands?
On shoes utilize Cloudtec to cushion. Instead of using a lot of foam throughout our midsoles, we hollow out that foam to create 'cloud element's' which compress vertically and horizontally for a more efficiently cushioned running shoe. Our shoes tend to be lighter weight and more responsive than other brands' models in their respective categories. On top of our Cloudtec, we also utilize a speedboard in every shoe for a more responsive feel that aids in guidance, energy return and support.

2. How does On Running stay ahead of upcoming shoe and fitness trends?
On has always been a company that does not go with the standard 'norm'. We feel that we have always gone against the grain of what other brands are doing. Our uniqueness and individuality is what sets us a part, and a big reason for us as a brand that we stand out.
