Design Thinking: The Beauty Chef

In Graduate School, one of the buzzwords professors love to discuss is "Design Thinking." Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding (Dam and Siang). Design Thinking enables a company to understand consumer needs to serve their audience better. For this project, I contacted different companies to learn how the organizations apply Design Thinking to their market offerings. I spoke with Jessie, Expert Nutritionist and Naturopath, to learn more about The Beauty Chef.

1. Why should someone use one of your products?

At The Beauty Chef, we believe that ‘beauty begins in the belly’. Research has shown that our gut health can affect everything from our skin to our digestion and mental health. For optimal health, beauty and wellbeing, we must take a holistic view of our gut health and nourish it in every way possible. Our team of microbiologists, naturopaths and nutritionists integrate clinically studied ingredients, evidence-based herbs and nutrients, evidence based probiotics and cutting-edge research to formulate products that deliver transformative results.

3. How do you incorporate your mission and vision into your product offerings?

Founded in 2009 by Carla Oates, The Beauty Chef pioneered the global inner beauty category with their first iteration of GLOW Inner Beauty Essential®—effectively shining a light on the link between gut health and skin health. We continue to live out our mission by creating effective products—to date, we’ve helped heal over one million guts. Every product contains an abundance of pure, clean, Certified Organic and biodynamic wholefood ingredients which, when fermented, create powerful, live and bioactive formulas.
