The 2003 film Freaky Friday begins with a montage of famous artworks depicting mothers and daughters throughout history. I think the definition of art has expanded since the film's inception. If director Mark Waters recreated the scene, he would feature jewelry from Jordan Road. Jordan Road is the brainchild of the mother-daughter duo Jordanna and Emma. This team empowers people to sparkle with its ethically created craftsmanship. I had the chance to speak with Jordanna to learn more about the company.

1. What makes Jordan Road different from other brands?

Our brand began six years ago when my mom and I took a volunteer trip to India. While we worked with children, we stumbled upon Indian artisans and their jewelry. We brought a few jewelry pieces home, and our friends became interested in the pieces. When we realized we could start a business, my mom and I returned to school at the Gemological Institute of America, where we received our graduate geology degrees.

We realized this joint venture could combine our professional backgrounds and consumer insights. My mom, Emma, worked for many years in interior design. While I went to Parson School of Design and worked in fashion. My mom and I use our life experiences to create items accessible to all ages and become a part of one's staple wardrobe.

Our collections capitalize on the idea that each piece across collections can work together to create a complementary look.

2. How do you and your mom incorporate your vision into the collections?

Our mission is to empower our customers by creating beautiful jewelry at affordable prices. Our vision is to make jewelry accessible as our customers continue to grow their jewelry collections with our products.

3. What are the quintessential Jordan Road products customers should buy?

We have products for everyone. If someone wants a more dainty piece, I recommend our lighter chains. If you want a piece of bolder jewelry, our chunky pieces are very fun. Our sets and stacks are great because a person can wear each piece individually or as a part of a whole.

4. What is the future of the company?

During the pandemic, Joran Road was picked up by Saks Fifth Avenue, Intermix, and many E-retailers. As we move forward in 2023, we want to build our direct-to-consumer line and expand our community with events and pop-ups.
