Las Vegas enables visitors and residents alike to journey across space, time and geography as one walks along the Las Vegas Strip. While the Strip is home too many cultural phenomena, The Venetian Resort stands at the pinnacle of Vegas hospitality. I had the opportunity to speak with Anna Hersel, director of concierge services, to learn more about the Doge of the Strip.

1. Why should someone visit the Venetian Resort?
At The Venetian Resort, we’re known for providing our guests with a world of options at every turn. We are the only all-suite resort on the Las Vegas Strip with the standard suite nearly double the size of the average Las Vegas hotel room. We offer the romance of Italy complete with the iconic architecture and gondola rides. And from our culinary collection, which includes restaurants from celebrated chefs including Wolfgang Puck, David Chang, Emeril Lagasse, and Thomas Keller, to our Cocktail Collective, where we invite guests to experience redefined nightlife and beautifully crafted cocktails in one of three unique destinations – The Dorsey, Rosina, or Electra Cocktail Club, guests can truly have the world at our resort.

2. How has The Venetian Resort adapted in the face of COVID-19?
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams at The Venetian Resort, worked through every portion of the guest journey and created protocols for every touch point that focused on maximizing safety and minimizing risk. Among the list of protocols, we’ve increased the frequency of routine cleaning in public spaces and heart of house areas, revised cleaning protocols for guest suites, meeting or exceeding CDC guidelines, and placed hundreds of individual sanitization stations throughout the resort. And we continue to follow guidance from local, state, and national agencies.

3. What are top sights people should see when they are in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas is full of amazing things to do and a lot of them can be found at The Venetian Resort. For instance, you can take a ride in an iconic gondola, get your photo taken in front of the monumental red LOVE sculpture, or even see one of the oldest gondolas in the world displayed in our Waterfall Atrium. If you’re looking for things to do outside of The Venetian Resort, Red Rock Canyon or the Hoover Dam are a short drive away, and if you’re in for a day trip, you can always check out the Grand Canyon, or Valley of Fire, which is a little closer. If you want a bird’s eye view of the Strip, you can take a helicopter ride and see all the glittering lights from above.

5. What is the future of tourism at The Venetian Resort and for Las Vegas?
What we’ve seen lately is an increase in travel to celebrate special occasions that were put on hold for one reason or another. At The Venetian Resort, we have a team of celebrations experts that can assist with perfectly crafting the perfect itinerary for those special celebrations. Although we can’t predict the future, what we do know is that when our guests are ready to travel, we’ll be there with a hand over our hearts to welcome them back for whatever occasion they’d like to celebrate with us, be it a birthday, wedding, or a weekend getaway to recharge.
